Accessibility

Accessibility statement

We want this site to work for everyone who needs to reach us, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard on its own, magnification, or no sound.

What we are aiming for

We build and test this site against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the international standard most commonly used to judge whether a website is accessible. We believe compu-tech.us is substantially conformant with that standard. We say "substantially" deliberately: no honest site owner can promise perfection, and anything we have not verified is listed further down rather than quietly left out.

What we have done

These are specific measures already in place, not intentions:

  • Colour contrast. Every text and background combination on the site was measured. All pass the AA threshold of 4.5:1, and most are well above it. Body text sits at roughly 10:1 and headings at 17:1.
  • Keyboard only. Every link, button, menu and form field can be reached and operated with the Tab and Enter keys. Nothing is reachable by mouse alone.
  • Visible focus. Whatever the keyboard is on is outlined clearly, in a colour that itself meets the contrast requirement.
  • Skip to content. The first thing the keyboard reaches is a link that jumps straight past the menu.
  • Structure a screen reader can navigate. Proper landmarks, one main heading per page, and headings that descend in order with no levels skipped.
  • Decorative graphics are silent. Icons that carry no information are hidden from screen readers rather than announced as meaningless images.
  • Movement can be stopped. The one moving element on the home page has a Pause button, and it stops automatically for anyone whose device is set to reduce motion.
  • Real text, and it scales. Text is text, not pictures of text. The page reflows down to a phone screen and can be zoomed without losing content.
  • Labelled controls. Form fields and buttons have names that make sense when read aloud out of context.

How we tested

This is a self-assessment, carried out on 8 November 2026. It combined a manual review of the page structure, keyboard navigation and screen-reader semantics with calculated contrast ratios for every colour pair in use. We have not commissioned an independent audit, and we do not claim certification by anyone.

Known limitations

We would rather tell you these than have you find them:

  • We have not yet tested with every screen reader. The site is built to the standard and checked for correct structure, but we have not sat down with JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver one at a time. If you use one and something reads badly, we want to hear about it.
  • No independent audit. See above.
  • Third-party content. If we later add anything hosted by someone else, such as a booking tool or a map, parts of it may fall outside our control. We will say so here when that happens.

Tell us if something does not work

If any part of this site stops you getting what you need, contact us and we will help you directly and fix the page.

Phone or text: (904) 640-9098
Email: rreyes@compu-tech.us

We aim to reply within two business days. Please tell us the page you were on and what happened, and if it is easier to explain by phone, say so and we will call you.

You do not have to wait for a fix to do business with us. If something on the site is in your way, call and we will take the details, send a quote, or book a visit over the phone instead.

Why we bother

We spend our working lives making technology behave for other people. A website that locks someone out would be a poor advertisement for that. It is also simply the right way to build.

Technical details

This site relies on HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It is built to work in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile, and to remain readable and usable if JavaScript is unavailable. It is designed to work with assistive technologies that support those standards.
